There’s your big reveal. AEW is still a relatively new company, but they have a lot of things that they still need to put together. With so much going on at the same time, AEW can throw a lot of things out there at once and see what can actually work. This can involve bringing in some new talent, whether they are young or old. This time around, we have both at once.

During last week’s Dynamite, wrestling legend Jake Roberts appeared to interrupt a Cody interview. Roberts promised that he had a client coming in to face off with Cody, meaning that someone else was coming to AEW in the near future. There were several options to pick from to fill in the role, but it turned out that we did not have to wait very long to find out who was working with Roberts.

This week on Dynamite, Roberts debuted Lance Archer as his client. The two came through the crowd during a match between Cody and Ortiz and sat in the crowd to watch. Archer attempted to interfere during the match but Roberts called him back before the two left. Archer, a former IWGP United States Champion, had been announced as appearing last week but did not show up.

It was a big surprise. Check out how the debut went down:

Opinion: This has some potential to go somewhere as you have another big man in Archer who has reinvented himself in the last year or so. Having Roberts there with him could be interesting and I’m curious to see what happens with these two. It was kind of a weird way to debut him though as they just came out of the crowd and were there, but it could have been a lot worse. Either way, the future looks bright and that’s always a good thing.
