The market is open. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years and that is a very good thing. With the rise of streaming video and another major promotion with AEW, there has not been this strong of a market for wrestlers in a very long time. As a result, fans are getting to see wrestlers pop up in places they may not have expected, and another might be available soon.
Two of the biggest shows of the wrestling year have come and gone this week as New Japan Pro Wrestling presented Wrestle Kingdom 15 over back to back nights. The event is the biggest event outside of America all year and arguably second only to WrestleMania. This year’s shows were headlined by two matches for the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Titles, but the person who lost in the end did not handle it well.
Kota Ibushi successfully defended both of his IWGP Titles in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 15 Night Two by defeating Jay White. Following the match, White appeared at a press conference, White had a breakdown, talking about how hard he had worked only to fail and cited numerous injuries he was going through. White flipped over the announcers’ tables and said that after New Year’s Dash, he was done with Japan and going home. Before the match, White had said that he was winning the titles and going home. It is not clear if White is done with the company or if this is part of a storyline.
What do you think is going on? Check out White’s meltdown:
WRESTLE KINGDOM IS 3?? DAYS AWAY!
'A lot in the world is out of our control, just like Wrestle kingdom is out of your control. I’m taking those belts and going home.'

Opinion: I’ve been a big White fan since his Ring of Honor days and it was great to see him do some great things in New Japan. I have no idea if he is going to be sticking with the company but it would seem strange to see him do all this and then just walk away. If he does though, there is going to be a rather nice bidding war over a very talented wrestler. Or maybe he stays and becomes the next big thing in New Japan, which would work out well too.
