There was more to it than that. In less than a year of being on the air, AEW Dynamite has turned into one of the hottest wrestling shows in the world. That is the kind of thing that can open up a lot of doors for several wrestlers who may not have gotten the same kind of chance elsewhere. A lot of this comes from their ability to cut promos in a different way, which was on display after the show ended.
We are less than a month away from AEW’s next pay per view with All Out. The show will take place on September 5 and the company is starting to set the show up in a big way. That includes setting up the main event, which will see Jon Moxley defend the World Title against Maxwell Jacob Friedman. This has been a long time coming for Friedman and he is getting aggressive. That might be getting him in some trouble though.
Moxley was not happy with Friedman. Check out what he had to say after this week’s Dynamite:
AEW has released a video from after this week’s Dynamite went off the air showing Moxley praising Darby Allin, who had challenged Moxley for the title earlier in the night. Moxley also threatened Friedman, who had interfered in the match by hitting Moxley in the head with the title. Friedman’s plan was to cost Moxley the title, as Friedman already has a title match locked in for All Out.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing I can always go for as these short promos can do a little something to boost up a feud. Moxley knows how to talk and Friedman’s interference was the kind of thing that would warrant a quick response. Everything they did made sense and I could go for more of it on the way to the title match. The idea of Friedman winning and then gloating sounds amazing and that is what AEW is shooting for.
