The history is strong with this one. One of the most popular traits for a wrestler is to be second generation. That is the kind of thing that you can’t teach and it goes a long way in preparing wrestlers for their time in the business. Some of these wrestlers are more successful than others of course, as it isn’t going to matter if a wrestler is never given the chance. That was the case with a recent NXT release, but she will be getting another shot elsewhere.
AEW has done a lot when it comes to modern wrestling, as the company has offered several wrestlers a chance to showcase themselves on the big stage. That is the case with their women’s division, as several previously unknown stars have come a long way in such a short amount of time. Another one is now going to be making her AEW debut and that is a good thing.
AEW has announced that former NXT wrestler Rachael Ellering, the daughter of former wrestler and manager Paul Ellering, will make her debut on next week’s edition of AEW Dark, when she faces Penelope Ford. Ellering was released from WWE earlier this year after being out of action for over nine months due to a torn ACL. Her match with Ford will be her first since a July 27, 2019 live event. There is no word on if she will be brought into AEW full time.
Ellering can do some good stuff in the ring. Check the preview and her out at her healthy levels:
Opinion: Ellering is someone who has a lot of supporters and certainly could be a big deal elsewhere. AEW might fit a bit better for her as it is more wrestling based than personality based. She also certainly seems ready to make a big splash and if she gets the chance to do so, good for her. It is great to see AEW offering a new opportunity like this and hopefully something positive comes out of it for Ellering.
