He’s back. With so many starts on any of the three WWE rosters, it can be easy for one of them to slip away for a bit and then be rebuilt for a big return down the line. This can be a an even more impressive moment if someone shows up in an important spot, perhaps with something on the line. That is what we saw over the weekend as a hiatus came to an end in a special match.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Monday Night Raw Results – December 2, 2024

Over the weekend at NXT Deadline, former North American Champion Oba Femi made a surprise return, taking the place of an injured Eddy Thorpe in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Femi went on to win the match, earning an NXT Title shot at New Year’s Revolution. This was Femi’s first match since Halloween Havoc in October when he lost to Tony D’Angelo.

This was big. Check out the return, the match, and more from Femi:

Opinion: This was quite the return and it makes sense. Femi dominated the North American Title scene for such a long time that he needed a new challenge. That seems to be getting into the main event scene for such a long time and now he very well could be the next NXT Champion. I’m curious to see where this goes, but the potential for something major in his future is right there.

What did you think of the return? Will Femi win the title? Let us know in the comments below.
