That’s a new one. Independent wrestling can offer a lot of unique options. Sometimes you can find something at an independent wrestling event that you are jut not going to see elsewhere. This might not always be the most thrilling thing, but there are some instances where you see something you never would expect. That was certainly the case over the weekend.
Over the weekend, Jerry Lawler defeated nZo, formerly known as Enzo Amore, in a casket match at New England Wrestling Wrestlefest 25 in Poughkeepsie, New York. This was the first ever match between the two. Lawler has been a semi-regular for Northeast Western for most of the last twenty years and is a former Tag Team Champion. Nzo is also a semi-regular for the promotion and wrestles around the independent circuit.
It was certainly unique. Check out how the match went, plus both of the two in separate action:
Opinion: This is what I love about independent wrestling, as you can get some unique situations like this one. I have no idea what the story to the match is but it is going to get some attention just for the headline alone. Lawler is someone who can do all kinds of things in the wrestling world despite being in his 70s, while nZo is one of the better talkers in recent memory. That’s more than enough to make for a good match.
