Well that didn’t work. It’s safe to say that wrestlers are impressive athletes. They have to stay in top condition while going around the world and performing in front of a live crowd over 200 times a year. In addition to the pressures of performing, they have to stay in good enough shape to make an impressive appearance. However, as strong as they may be, there’s always something stronger and that is on full display in a new video against a rather different kind of opponent.

Someone sign that thing up!

The San Antonio Zoo and Zoo School have posted a video to Twitter showing NXT’s Ricochet, Killian Dain and Fabian Aichner in a tug of war with a two and a half year old lion cub. The video, filmed in May, shows the lion not seeming to try very hard to hold the trio off and the wrestlers’ efforts being ineffective. At the end, Ricochet admits defeat, saying that the lion “isn’t moving”. In an interview with the San Antonio News-Express, Zoo Director of Public Relations said the contest “demonstrates the power these wild animals have. They may be trained but they’re certainly not tamed, and people underestimate the power of these animals.”

Opinion: There’s something very cool about seeing the lion barely even trying and having three rather strong wrestlers having no chance against the thing. It goes to show you that while people can be strong, there are things out there that are much, much stronger. I can always go with something like this as wrestlers can be used to educate people while having a little bit of fun at the same time. It’s not like there’s any shame in losing to an actual, real life lion so everything is all in good humor.

Which of the three wrestlers will have the most success on the main roster? How many wrestlers would it take to beat the lion? Let us know in the comments below.
