There’s a random one. This weekend, all of the eyes of the wrestling world will be on Las Vegas, Nevada for AEW’s premiere event, Double Or Nothing. The show marks the first big step that the company has taken and there is almost no way of knowing where things are going to go from here. The weekend also features a convention called Starrcast, where various wrestling personalities were speaking. This included one comment that came out of nowhere.

During a Starrcast panel, Cody spoke about AEW performer Kylie Rae, who is rather similar to WWE’s Bayley. Cody praises Rae and referred to her as a “ball of emotion”, and “not some wacky inflatable tube men pretending to be nice.” The following day, Cody walked back the comments, saying that he meant no harm. Rae also commented on the incident, praising Bayley and saying there would be no Rae without Bayley.

And of course it’s on tape. Check out Cody’s rather surprising comments:

Opinion: That’s quite the random shot at Bayley, who is hardly considered to be a mean person in wrestling. I can understand the idea of the companies being being against each other, but it feels a bit mean spirited to take a shot at someone who hasn’t exactly done anything wrong as of late. At least Cody did walk them back, which is about all you can do in something like this.

Was Cody being ridiculous here? How many other such comments should be expected? Let us know in the comments below.
