Le Champion de tributes. In the history of wrestling, there are very few stars on the level of Chris Jericho. He has wrestled all around the world and succeeded almost everywhere he has gone. This includes stops in Germany, America, Japan, Canada and various other places. One of the most important periods in Jericho’s career came during his time in Mexico, which has come back up this weekend.

While it was early in his career, Jericho’s time in Mexico added a lot to his career. It partially led him to Japan, then WCW and ultimately on to the most famous time of his career in WWE. He also learned a different style that was an important part of his in-ring skills, including adding the Lionsault to his arsenal during this period. As a result, it was no surprise that Jericho was willing to talk about the time in his career.

Lucha Libre CMLL has posted a video of Jericho talking about his association with Paco Alonso, the owner of CMLL who passed away on July 6, 2019. Jericho talks about how Alonso was one of his favorite owners to work for and first gave him a chance to be a star. Jericho is one of the many stars to pay tribute to Alonso, who took over CMLL in 1987 and ran it until his death.

Jericho seemed to care about Alonso. Check out his tribute:

Opinion: That is the kind of thing that always makes me smile a bit. I have not seen much of Jericho’s time in CMLL but it was certainly an important part of his career. You can hear that in the way Jericho talks about it and that is something that he should be proud of doing. It is also great to see Jericho being willing to praise someone who played an important role in his career, as he has never seemed to mind talking about his past.
