We’re not done yet. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite was the first of its kind in a very long time as the show featured live fans in attendance for the first time since March. The Coronavirus pandemic has prevented fans from appearing in person for a very long time now and while the building was only at 10% capacity, it was still better than nothing. It was such a big deal that the fans were given a special treat.

Live fans add something unique to a show and there is no way to substitute for it. WWE has done what they can with the NXT wrestlers in place and AEW tried having friends and family included, but there is nothing that can be done to recreate the real wrestling fan experience. That was back on display this week and AEW’s biggest star made it clear that they appreciated it.

This was a great moment. Check out what happened after this week’s AEW Dynamite:

A fan has uploaded a video of Chris Jericho addressing the fans and thanking them for coming to the show. He said that it didn’t matter if you liked him or not, this was an historic night because live crowds had returned to AEW. This is the first time that fans had been in attendance for a major wrestling event since the pandemic began. Daily’s Place holds about 5,500 people and around 10%, or 550 fans, were allowed to attend.

Opinion: As Jericho said, you may or may not like him but there is something so special about seeing fans back in the building. At the end of the day, wrestlers are programmed to play to live fans and they are going to be off without them. I know five hundred fans isn’t the biggest audience but that is five hundred more people than the building has seen in about five months.

What did you think of the show? How much of a difference did the fans make? Let us know in the comments below.
