Updated “Extreme Rules 2017” Card, Four Title Matches Announced

And then there were five. Coming into today we had nothing set up for the upcoming “Extreme Rules 2017” pay per view. As the day went on we had the first match announced for the show but then this week’s “Monday Night Raw” really cranked things up, bumping the total all the way to five matches announced.

Tonight on the show, four more matches were announced for the pay per view, including three title matches and a #1 contenders match. Three of these will have stipulations attached and all of the title matches are now rematches from previous events. Here’s the updated card:

Extreme Rules Match for the #1 Contendership to the Universal Title: Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns

Singapore Cane Match for the Raw Women’s Title: Alexa Bliss(c) vs. Bayley

Cruiserweight Title: Neville(c) vs. Austin Aries

Raw Tag Team Titles: Hardys(c) vs. Sheamus/Cesaro

Intercontinental Title: Dean Ambrose(c) vs. The Miz. If Ambrose is counted out or disqualified, Miz wins the title.

Opinion: That’s quite the card in one day. I’m sure we’ll get two or three more matches to flesh things out but the top of the card is set. The pay per view is in less than three weeks so they’re certainly moving things along in a hurry. Braun Strowman’s injury changed a lot and it’s a good sign that WWE has responded so fast.
