You’re staying aren’t you? Back in April, a lot of things changed in WWE as the company released all kinds of wrestlers and other talent, all on the same day. That was quite the devastating moment for a lot of wrestlers and there is no way of telling how long it could be before some of the names will be back, assuming they ever do whatsoever. However, one name might be sticking around.

One of the most memorable moments of the wrestling year was a video put out by Drake Maverick upon learning that he was released. Maverick released an emotional video talking about how he would give everything he had in his remaining matches in the Interim Cruiserweight Title tournament. This left Maverick with three matches to go in his WWE career, but that has since changed. Something else might have changed as well.

According to Wrestling Observer Live, Maverick may have been re-hired by WWE, though it is not completely confirmed. This comes after Maverick won a triple threat match on last week’s NXT to earn a spot in the tournament finals against El Hijo de Fantasma on this week’s show. Should Maverick win the title, he will stay in WWE but should he lose, his career with the company is over.

It has been a long run to the finals. Check out some of Maverick’s tournament matches:

Opinion: The more I try to figure this situation out, the more confused I am by the whole thing. I could see Maverick sticking around, but at the same time I could see WWE letting him go. While Maverick was entertaining as the 24/7 Champion, it isn’t like he has been the biggest asset to the company. That being said, he also hasn’t been given many chances to show what he can do but the times he has had have gone well. I’d love to see him stick around, but I can see why he might not.

What do you think of Maverick? Will he win the title? Let us know in the comments below.
