That’s a good reason. The rise of AEW has changed the way wrestling works in a lot of ways. One of the most important has been allowing a variety of wrestlers a new place to go, including some who have never gotten any exposure on a national stage. Wrestlers might be able to pick where they want to go and now we know why one of them made their own choice.

Last month, reports surfaced that Bandido had come to terms with AEW despite having interest from WWE. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bandido chose AEW over WWE because he did not want to move from Mexico. Bandido has a partner and child in Mexico and working full time with WWE would not allow him to see them as often. Bandido’s deal is reportedly for three years and has a maximum number of dates included.

Opinion: That makes a lot of sense and it seems to be the right call for Bandido. Either company was going to be interested in someone as talented as him and this seems to be a balance of everything he wants to do. What matters for fans is we are going to get to see a lot of Bandido, who is certainly good enough to hang on the top rung of a mainstream promotion like AEW.
