There is a lot going on. AEW has a rather unique roster, with wrestlers from all over the world, many of whom have been stars in other international promotions. It can be interesting to see what happens when one of those wrestlers leaves and goes somewhere else, as you can see wrestlers going from one place to another for different reasons. That appears to be the case again.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Getting Well Soon? AEW Star Backstage After Missing Over A Year Due To Surgery

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Andrade El Idolo’s AEW contract is expected to expire “soon”, though an exact date is not known. There is also the chance that AEW could extend the contract due to time El Idolo missed due to injury. The report went on to say that El Idolo is expected to return to CMLL, where he got his start. El Idolo is said to want to go to CMLL now in case he returns to WWE, as he would not be allowed to wrestle for CMLL if he signs with WWE again.

El Idolo has done well in AEW. Check out his time there:

Opinion: This is a situation that has quite a few moving parts but the important thing is it seems El Idolo may be on his way out of AEW. While it is not for sure that he will be, having him reportedly looking to sign elsewhere would suggest that he believe he is on the way out. For now though, El Idolo is doing well in AEW and I’m curious to see what he will be doing if he is on the way out.

What do you think of the situation? Where should El Idolo sign next? Let us know in the comments below.
