So much for that? There are a lot of titles under the WWE umbrella and that means you are going to see quite a few title defenses from week to week. Some of these might be more prominent than others but there is always something to be said about having a title on the line, no matter when or where it is being defended. That won’t be the case this week, at least with one previously announced title match.
The Cruiserweight Title is in an interesting place in WWE at the moment as there are two versions of the title on two different continents. While Jordan Devlin holds the title in NXT UK, Santos Escobar has the American version of the title down in NXT. Escobar has been a rather strong champion and needs some fresh challengers, but he might have to wait a bit on his next defense.
WWE.com’s official preview for this week’s edition of NXT has removed all mentions of Escobar’s scheduled Cruiserweight Title defense against Curt Stallion. The match was announced last week for this week’s show and comes after Stallion became #1 contender on the November 13, 2020 edition of 205 Live. There is no word on why the title match was pulled or when it will take place.
This could be a big one. Check out how the match was set up:
Opinion: I’m not sure what happened here but hopefully everyone is ok and not sick in any way. The title match has been in the making for two months now so another week or two won’t hurt things. I could even see it stretched out all the way until Takeover on February 14, but that might be a bit too far even for the Cruiserweight Title. The match should be a good one though and Stallion has been built up well in the process.
