It’ll be awhile. The biggest story of the wrestling year has been the civil lawsuit against Vince McMahon. The lawsuit comes with claims from a former WWE employee, accusing McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking, with former WWE executive John Laurinitis also involved. Now we are seeing quite the change of pace as some rather powerful people are getting involved.

According to Bloomberg, the civil case against McMahon has been paused for a period of six months while a non-public investigation from the Department Of Justice takes place. Ann Callis, the attorney for Janel Grant, the former WWE employee, has issued a statement to 411mania.com saying that Ms. Grant has consented to the request. There is no word on what will happen to the civil suit when the investigation is complete.

There have been investigations in WWE before. Check out some of them over the years:

Opinion: This is one of those situations where we are going to have to see where things go from here, but the Department Of Justice getting involved is not exactly a great sign. There is a very real chance that McMahon faces some serious charges over this thing and I’m not sure how that is going to go in the end. It’s going to be rather interesting, but probably not in a good way for McMahon.
