Maybe next year. With so much demand for content and resources available, it is no surprise that WWE has the ability to run so many regular television shows at the same time. This has been the case for a long time now but it has never been more prominent than it is now. With Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT all running at least two hours a week, there is a lot to see in WWE. However, one of them might not be around as much on the big stage in November.

The big story of last year’s Survivor Series was the three way feud between all of the major television shows. NXT won the Battle For Brand Supremacy by winning the most matches at Survivor Series, suggesting that it was now on the same level as its counterparts. That has not exactly been the case since though, and NXT has not been mentioned for this year’s show. There are two reasons for that.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT is not involved with this year’s Survivor Series due to Coronavirus concerns and Vince McMahon not wanting it to be seen as an equal to Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. Part of this is due to NXT being beaten by AEW, as a minor league show losing to AEW is one thing, but a major league show is something different.

It worked once. Check out what happens when NXT is included:

Opinion: I get the thinking here but I’m not sure if it makes sense. Doesn’t NXT become a bigger deal, and therefore a better threat to defeat AEW, if it is treated as a bigger show? This comes off a bit more like a self fulfilling prophecy and that is rarely a good idea. I don’t know if it would be enough to have NXT beat AEW, but this seems like WWE is making it almost impossible in the first place.

What do you think of the idea? What could increase NXT’s audience? Let us know in the comments below.
