It’s nice to see more. The wrestling industry has some of the most interesting stories you are ever going to see and it is great that some of them are starting to get more attention. Documentaries like Dark Side of the Ring and the Andre the Giant documentary, plus scripted offerings like GLOW and Fighting With My Family have shown a new interest in wrestling, and now even more is on the way.

The main reason something like this works out so well is the amount of people involved in the wrestling industry. Having so many of them throughout history makes for so many interesting subjects and that is the kind of thing that a documentary filmmaker can work with anytime. As it turns out, that time is now, as two wrestling legends are also getting the documentary treatment.

During the WWE’s third quarter financial call, WWE executive Nick Khan mentioned that A&E will be producing a pair of documentaries on the Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart. There is no word on when the documentaries will be released or how long through production they already are. This comes after a future Vince McMahon documentary was for Netflix at some point.

They’re both interesting subjects. Check out Hart and Ultimate Warrior:

Opinion: This is something that could work out rather well, though it depends on how much input (if any) WWE is allowed. They might not be interested in allowing the more controversial details of either life to be let out, The company has a tendency to water something like this down and if that is the case, what could be rather good will be little more than a WWE puff piece. That might not be the case, but it is always a possibility.

Which documentary sounds better? Who else in wrestling should get a documentary? Let us know in the comments below.
