Double up. Back in 2020, WrestleMania expanded to two nights and has continued to do so ever since. That makes for a very different kind of dynamic for the show as it allows more people to appear on the card. It is not the only show which has been expanded on the WWE calendar, as Summerslam will expand as well in 2026. Now though, it seems that things are going to be happening sooner than later.

WWE CCO Triple H has announced that Summerslam 2025 will be taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on August 2 and 3, making it the first ever two night Summerslam event. This also marks the fifth year in a row that the show will take place in an NFL stadium. The stadium has hosted a pair of WrestleManias before, most recently WrestleMania 35.

Summerslam is a big deal. Check out what the show has done over the years:

Opinion: This is a change that you almost had to know was coming and it isn’t a surprise. If WWE can make twice the number of ticket sales, they would be insane not to do it. Summerslam is one of the biggest shows of the year and it would not surprise me to see all four of the traditional Big Four shows expand to two nights. It makes sense, and hopefully it winds up working out for everyone.
