Was it really that long ago? January 4 has always been a big day in wrestling (indeed it has) and one of the biggest of them all was twenty years ago. On that night, WCW’s Monday Nitro aired the infamous Fingerpoke of Doom but on Monday Night Raw, something much more positive was taking place. It’s still fondly remembered today and WWE is looking back at it as well.

It still gives me chills. Check out this clip, with the loudest reaction of all time:

Mick Foley returns to WWE Title win site 20 years later: WWE Revisited

WWE has released a new video with Mick Foley revisiting the Worcester Centrum, where he won the WWF World Title for the first time ever, which aired on January 4, 1999. The video shows Foley in the arena where he discusses that day, what the moment means to him, and the infamous comment made on Monday Nitro which caused hundreds of thousands of people to switch over to Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: Foley’s title win is my favorite moment in wrestling and something that still feels special for a lot of wrestling fans. It’s more than worth looking at again on such an important anniversary and thankfully WWE did it the way they should have. This was a nice little treat and something that WWE does as well as anyone ever has. I’m glad they remembered it, because it deserves to be remembered.

What did you think of the moment? What is the best first time title win? Let us know in the comments below.
