Add it to his resume. There are very few names in the world with the same kind of celebrity status as the Rock. After leaving the wrestling business, he has taken over Hollywood, becoming one of the biggest movie stars in the world. It is rare to see him not succeed in something, and now he is applying even more of himself to his latest project on the smaller screen.
As is the case with almost any son of a wrestler, Rock had an interesting childhood. His father and grandfather were both wrestlers and they were just part of the long list of wrestlers in his family. It isn’t even normal for the son of a wrestler and that is the kind of thing that deserves a closer look. That is exactly what we are going to be getting later this year.
NBC has released its fall schedule by way of TV Line, with Young Rock, a new show based on Rock’s life as he was growing up. The show will debut as a midseason replacement. According to 411mania.com, Rock will appear in all eleven episodes of the first season in an unspecified role. There is no word on which part of Rock’s life the series will cover or which wrestlers will be portrayed.
Maybe this will be included. Check out the Rock watching his dad wrestle:
Opinion: This is something that could be rather interesting, and the fact that the Rock is involved makes it that much more likely to succeed. Rock has a near Midas touch these days and a series about something as fascinating as the childhood of a wrestler could work rather well. I’ll watch the series, if nothing else to see various wrestlers likely appearing on the show in one form or another.
