To the other side. There are several ways to turn a wrestler from good to bad or vice versa and some of them are more effective than others. While one of the most common is to have a wrestler slowly set up a turn and then finally execute it, there are other times where it happens out of nowhere. Both of those were the case this weekend in a turn that took some by surprise.

Over the weekend, AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling presented Forbidden Door, which included IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Sanada successfully defending his title against Jungle Boy. Following the match, Jungle Boy and his best friend Hook were going up the ramp when Jungle Boy attacked Hook, officially turning heel in the process. This comes after Jungle Boy has been wrestling in a more aggressive style, as mentioned by AEW commentary.

Opinion: This is something that you could probably have seen coming for a long time now and they finally pulled the trigger. That is a nice thing to see as Jungle Boy has needed the turn for a good while. Maybe this can even lead to him officially adopting the name Jack Perry and dropping the Jungle Boy name altogether. If he doesn’t do that though, at least he has gotten to the other side, where things should be better for him.
