Tune Out? Details On WWE’s Music From Def Rebel, Criticisms From Wrestlers

To their ears? There are several things that come together to make a wrestler’s presentation complete, with one of the most important being their entrance music. You will regularly see a wrestler become associated with a certain song and it can be a huge changeover if something new comes along. Now it seems that several in WWE would like something to be changed.

According to Fightful Select, there is quite a bit of backlash, both internally and externally, to Def Rebel, the group that produces WWE’s music. However, at the moment, there are no plans to move to a different composer. This comes as WWE has listed a job opening for Director Of Music Strategy And Operations, which is described as more of an administrative role rather than a new composer. One of the major complaints was that several wrestlers had similar themes with little personal touch included. There is no word on how WWE could address the wrestlers’ issues.

Opinion: There is something to be said about the current music WWE is presenting as it only stands out to a certain extent. Some wrestling themes over the years have become iconic with certain stars, but there are others whose songs could be rather interchangeable. The latter has been far more common in recent times though and that is likely going to need to change in some way.
