He would be a big one. WrestleMania 39 is next month and that means it is going to be time for the biggest stars in wrestling to come together for the most important event of the year. WWE has a history of having those names put together one a major card and they are doing it again, though one of the biggest names ever will not be included. Now we know a bit more about why.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s On: Hell In A Cell Match Set For WrestleMania 39
WWE has attempted to get Steve Austin to return for another match at WrestleMania 39 but was turned down. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Austin was pitched a match with Brock Lesnar but turned it down due to the money offered. In addition, according to Fightful Select, Austin was asked about a match with Roman Reigns, but never got back to WWE about the offer. A new report from Fightful Select says that Austin was pitched other matches for WrestleMania, including one with LA Knight. There is no word on Austin’s response to any of the other suggestions.

Opinion: Austin returning to the ring at WrestleMania last year was an amazing moment, but I’m not sure I can imagine getting to see him do it again. If nothing else, how many times can Austin turn back the clock and have a presentable match on such a grand stage? I can also understand him not being happy with what is offered to him, but at least WWE seems to be trying.
