Last month, Olympic gold medal winning wrestler and NXT star Gable Steveson announced that he would be taking time off from NXT in a return to amateur wrestling. Steveson was scheduled to compete at the 2023 Senior Wrestling World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia from September 16-24. However, according to Flo Wrestling, Steveson has backed out of the competition for unspecified reasons. While not confirmed, this should free Steveson up for a return to NXT, where he made his in-ring debut at Great American Bash in July.
Steveson has done a few things in NXT. Check out some of his time there:
Opinion: Steveson continues to go back and forth with his wrestling future and it continues to see that he isn’t overly enthusiastic about a full time commitment to WWE. It would be nice to have him around, but if he isn’t interested in doing it on a full time basis, I’m not sure how much value there is to having him in NXT. Hopefully it works out, but his time could be running low.
What do you think of Steveson’s time in NXT? How far can he go in WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
