Something has to take its place. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE for the last two plus years and there is nothing to suggest that is going to change. Reigns now wrestles a lighter schedule and is not going to be around every week. Instead, Reigns only shows up for major shows and matches. That is great for Reigns, but creates a problem when Reigns holds both World Titles. Now there might be a solution.
According to Fightful Select, WWE is presenting United States Champion Bobby Lashley as the top star on Monday Night Raw. This is part of Triple H’s plan to make the United States Title a credible prize on the show, which has included multiple title matches in recent weeks. Lashley is currently scheduled to defend the title against Seth Rollins next week on Monday Night Raw.
Opinion: This is something that makes a lot of sense and is something that WWE should have done a good while ago. The United States Title is the biggest deal on the Monday Night Raw roster and while it might not be the World Title, it is certainly better than nothing. If Reigns is not going to be around on a regular basis, WWE needs a replacement and this is as good as it can do at the moment.
