They need a replacement. Like any other wrestling promotion, WWE is built around its stars. The company needs stars who can be at the top of the company and receive the majority of the focus. It can mean a lot when one of those wrestlers leaves the company, but now there might be a replacement coming back should WWE lose one of its most prominent stars.

Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE TV since WrestleMania 39 amid reports of a contract dispute, which could result in him leaving WWE when his current deal expires. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McIntyre’s departure at some point later this year could lead to the return of Randy Orton, though this is not guaranteed. There is also the chance that McIntyre could sign a new deal with WWE and remain with the company. It is not clear if Orton would return if McIntyre stays with the company. Orton has been out of action since May 2022 with a back injury. There is no word on when he would be able to return.
There is a history here. Check out Orton and McIntyre apart and together:
Opinion: This is an interesting way to go, but what McIntyre decides to do is not going to matter if Orton’s back is not healed up. Orton is a top star and could easily be slotted into any spot WWE needs him in, but his health is quite the road block. I’m not sure if Orton is going to be back or if McIntyre is leaving, though the idea of having either of them around is a fun way to go.
What do you think of the idea? Will McIntyre stay with WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
