They’re #1? There are all kinds of tag teams in wrestling today and some of them are incredibly talented, as well as successful. The last year has seen tag team wrestling reach levels that few would have believed possible and it is quite impressive to see just how far things have come. The talent involved deserves the praise for such success and now some of them are getting recognition.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated has announced their annual Tag Team 100 list, ranking the top 100 tag teams in the world. AEW’s FTR topped the list for the second time in the four years the list has been published. Here is the top ten:
1. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)
2. Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher)
3. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
4. Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI)
5. Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)
6. ABC (Chris Bey and Ace Austin)
7. The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens)
8. Judgement Day (Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, Damian Priest)
9. Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, IYO SKY, Bayley)
10. 7UPP (Nanae Takahashi & Yuu)
The Usos are not ranked in the top ten, despite topping the list last year and ranking #4 in 2021. The team main evented the first night of WrestleMania 39 as well as this year’s Money In The Bank event.

There are some talented teams on that list. Check out some of them in action:
Opinion: FTR is more than a worthy option, as they had one great match after another and made tag team wrestling feel like one of the most important things AEW had to offer. At the same time, I would be interested in knowing why the Usos were not on the list. After the year they had, including one of the highest profile Tag Team Title matches ever, it’s weird to not see them included anywhere.
