It happens to everyone. Injuries are the kind of things that can happen to anyone in wrestling at any given time and that is a horrible thing to see. Someone can be on a roll and then have the rug pulled out from underneath them at the drop of a hat. It can be awful to see this take place and unfortunately we might be seeing something similar in AEW at the moment.

AEW is currently building towards a major crossover match as Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet will team together to face Shaquille O’Neal and Jade Cargill on the March 3 edition of Dynamite. That is going to be one of the biggest matches that AEW has ever presented and certainly one of the most important ever on Dynamite. There might be a bit of a flaw in the plan though.

That isn’t good. Check out some new injury information:

AEW has posted their weekly Coach’s Corner video, featuring Arn Anderson talking about Rhodes’ match this week. During the video, Anderson revealed that Rhodes suffered an injury in his match. At the end of the video, a statement said that Rhodes has a slight tear of his rotator cuff. His current status is to be determined and there is no word on the upcoming match being changed.

Opinion: This is one of those things that could get a lot worse in a hurry so I would be stunned if Rhodes is doing anything more physical than holding a microphone on television until March 3. Rhodes is experienced enough to find a way to work around the injury, but if something goes wrong, I’m almost scared to imagine how the match would go without him involved. It isn’t a match with the most experience combined and an injured Rhodes could be quite the burden on the match.
