Tony Khan Introduces A New Championship

That’s a new one. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they identify the top stars in wrestling. Winning a championship can be an important day in any wrestler’s career and occasionally a title win is all the more important. One such example is someone becoming an inaugural champion and that is something someone else will be getting to do.

This week at Ring Of Honor, company owner Tony Khan announced the introduction of the Women’s Television Title. Khan presented the new title belt and said that details on the title will come in the next few weeks. There was no word on when or where the first champion will be crowned. This is the second Ring Of Honor women’s Title, along with the Women’s Championship, which is held by Athena.

There are some talented women in Ring Of Honor. Check out some of the options:

Opinion: This is certainly an interesting way to go as Athena has held the Women’s Title for over a year now. I’m not sure how much this is going to feel like an important title as opposed to a “here’s a title for the rest of you” prize. At the same time, Ring Of Honor already has quite a few championships and adding another might not seem like the best concept at the moment.
