It’s about time. Despite having less than six weeks away from WrestleMania 37, WWE has another pay per view to come first. That could make for an interesting situation, as despite the show being less than three weeks away, nothing has actually been announced yet. WWE is still spending most of their time setting up WrestleMania, but now they do have a title match set.
The Women’s Tag Team Titles have been in a weird place throughout their just over two year long history. There are only so many established teams on the main roster, meaning that several makeshift teams have fought over the titles since they were brought back in 2019. That makes for some odd matches, but now we are in for a team working together for the second time and getting their second title match.
WWE has announced that Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will defend their Women’s Tag Team Titles against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair at Fastlane on March 21. This comes after Jax and Baszler successfully defended the titles against Belair and Banks at Elimination Chamber. Since then, Belair has announced that she will be challenging Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania. Lana and Naomi have been named as the #1 contenders for the titles but it is not clear when they will be receiving their shot.
You might remember this one. Check out what happened last time:
Opinion: I’m not sure what the thinking here is as the teams have both moved on and it makes the show feel all the less important. It feels like we are just watching a match that is happening because it has to and that is not the best look for a show. Hopefully the match winds up being good, but I do not exactly care to see the match because it has already happened and wasn’t exactly great in the first place.
