The record might be in jeopardy. After being the sole survivors in the “Survivor Series 2016” tag team elimination match, Sheamus and Cesaro were due for a reward. As such, Stephanie McMahon has granted them a shot at the Raw Tag Team Titles against the New Day for tonight on “Monday Night Raw”. New Day was eliminated just over a minute into the match by the Usos.

This won’t be Cesaro and Sheamus’ first shot at gold as they challenged for the titles at “Hell in a Cell 2016” and won by disqualification and likely earning themselves a future rematch. To make things more interesting, New Day is less than a month away from breaking Demolition’s record for longest Tag Team Title reign at company history of 478 days.

Please, not now. After months of hearing about Demolition’s record, I really see no need to change the titles with New Day so close to the finish line. New Day has been one of the hottest acts in years and while they’ve cooled down a bit, nothing is going to be gained by giving Cesaro and Sheamus the titles now instead of waiting for another few weeks.
