Keep the gold coming. Winning a title in wrestling is impressive, but what is more impressive is winning a title even more. Some champions have held titles multiple times, with an even smaller number having an incredible number of reigns with a title. Occasionally it can almost go too high to mean anything anymore and we might be seeing that again.
With less than thirty days to go before WrestleMania 37, it is time to get the card ready. Some of the matches have already been set but that still leaves a lot of work to do. There are a lot of title matches that need to be set up and even with another pay per view to go between now and WrestleMania, WWE is not wasting time. Another title match was announced on this week’s Monday Night Raw and it was done in a hurry.
The New Day defeated the Hurt Business during this week’s Monday Night Raw to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions. Following the win, AJ Styles and Omos came to the ring, with Styles saying that he had never been a Tag Team Champion in WWE. As a result, he and Omos challenged New Day to defend the titles at WrestleMania. New Day accepted the match was made official later in the night. This will be Omos’ first match on WWE TV.
New Day may be in trouble. Check out the new champs and their challengers:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes sense during WrestleMania season as we have less than four weeks to go before the show. You can only go so far with so little time and it is a good idea to set up the match this far in advance. If nothing else, it is nice to see the division grow a little bit, as you can only get by with two or three teams at a time for so long before it stops working.
