Your pick. There are a lot of ways to present a huge grudge match and that can make things all the more interesting. If a match has been done before, the best idea might be to slap some kind of special rules onto the rematch, which could make things all the more intense. WWE has certainly figured out how to do this most of the time and now we are going to see more than one version at once.

During this week’s edition of NXT, General Manager William Regal announced that Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole will face off in a 2/3 falls match at Takeover 36 on August 22. Each fall will feature a special stipulation, with both wrestlers and Regal getting to pick a stipulation each. As a result, O’Reilly picked a traditional match, Cole chose a street fight and Regal announced a steel cage match should the match go three falls. The match is being billed as the Undisputed Finale and will be the last match between the two.

Cole and O’Reilly both came into NXT in the summer of 2007 along with Bobby Fish. The two would go on to form the Undisputed Era, with Fish and Roderick Strong completing the team. The Undisputed Era would dominate NXT, including holding all of its major men’s titles at once. Eventually the team would run into problems though, with Cole attacking O’Reilly to end the team and start up their feud.

It was an eventful night. Check out what went down and how we got here:

Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole set the stage for The Undisputed Finale: WWE NXT, Aug. 10, 2021

Prime Target: Cole vs. O’Reilly: WWE NXT, March 31, 2021

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Adam Cole II: NXT Great American Bash, July 6, 2021

Opinion: This is about all you can do and that makes sense. Just go with the big fight to let them wrap things up, as there is a real chance that they won’t be able to after Takeover. These changed are coming to NXT and it would be a shame to not have a mostly clean slate once we get there. It would not surprise me whatsoever to see this headline the show and that could work out well.

What do you think of the stipulations? How will the match go? Let us know in the comments below.
