Getting them ready early. One of the most irritating things about WWE is their lack of announcing things in advance. I can’t count how many times a big match will be set up and then take place on the same night. By letting things grow a bit, the payoff is better and more people will hear about and presumably watch it. Thankfully, three such matches have been announced in advance of next week’s “Monday Night Raw”.

The Miz and The Miztourage pummel Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins: Raw, July 17, 2017

This week, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz and the Miztourage, Sasha Banks vs. Bayley for the #1 contendership to the Raw Women’s Title and Finn Balor vs. Elias Samson in a No DQ match were announced for next week. Rollins and Ambrose had been given the option to face any two of the three members but decided to face all three at once. Bayley pinned Alexa Bliss twice in a row and wanted the title shot but Banks said she deserved it due to beating Bliss at “Great Balls of Fire”, thereby requiring next week’s match. Finally, Balor defeated Samson via DQ when Samson hit him with a guitar, setting up the rematch.

Opinion: I’m liking the recent trend of setting stuff up a week or so in advance rather than announcing and doing things the same night. I’ve never seen why that’s the best way to go about business and hopefully this becomes the new normal. Give me a reason to watch next week instead of telling me to watch and hope for the best.
