They’re showing some support. Earlier this month, WWE got one of its biggest breaks of all time when SmackDown started to air every Friday night on FOX. This was the big move for the huge money and with it came the support of the FOX network. That mainly means a lot of advertising and so far it has been hard to avoid WWE if you watch anything related to FOX. That is a very good sign for WWE, but it is even better when FOX throws them a little bit of a bonus, which is what we are looking at later this weekend.

According to 411mania.com, FOX will be airing a one hour special WWE presentation on Sunday at 2pm EST. The special was announced over a week ago with no details being provided. It has now been announced that the show will be a special one hour edition of SmackDown, which will be moved to Fox Sports 1 for one week due to the World Series taking its usual time slot. While not confirmed, this is likely a one time only hour long edition, as such a special has never aired before and is not advertised again.

WWE on FOX is a big deal. Check out how things got started:

Opinion: This is a nice little idea, even though it may not mean much overall. It is a good sign that FOX thinks enough of WWE to put it on at the same time as the Sunday NFL coverage, which will dominate the ratings for the day. I can’t imagine that the show will receive any significant viewership, but at least the show is airing on the proper channel. The World Series getting the spot is hardly a big deal as it was announced in advance of the show even debuting in the first place. WWE seems to be doing well on FOX and that is what matters most.
