The card continues to grow. We are less than eight days away from Clash of Champions, a show built entirely around titles. While there are going to be a few matches with no title implications, the majority of the show is going to be about titles. That means that we are going to need a lot of challengers to go after all of those titles and another one of them was set up over the weekend.

As announced on WWE.com, Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross will be defending their titles against Fire & Desire. The challengers (Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville) defeated Bliss and Cross in a non-title match earlier this week on SmackDown Live to earn their shot. Bliss and Cross have held the titles for a little over a month, winning them on the August 5 Monday Night Raw.

Here’s how it got set up. Check out the match from Tuesday:

Opinion: It wasn’t exactly a shock to see what was going to happen here but that doesn’t make it any less logical. There aren’t many female tag teams in WWE in the first place so giving the title shot to one of the few regular teams was the only option. This may not be the most thrilling way to go but at least it’s a story that was set up and could make for a decent enough match at the pay per view.
