And so, they end. There have been a lot of titles throughout WWE’s history and they have led to all kinds of championship matches over the years. Some of them are among the more famous titles in wrestling, though not all of them last forever. Sometimes you see a few of them eliminated and that was the case this weekend, as three titles went away for good via some unification matches.
This weekend saw NXT Worlds Collide take place, featuring three title unification matches for NXT and NXT UK championships. First up, Pretty Deadly unified the NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Titles by defeating the Creed Brothers (NXT) and Josh Briggs/Brooks Jensen (NXT UK) and Gallus in a four way elimination match. Next, NXT Women’s Champion defeated NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura and Blair Davenport to unify the titles. Finally, NXT Champion Bron Breakker beat NXT United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate to unify both titles.
Opinion: There was only so much of a surprise element here as the title unifications were coming, leaving the only question to be who would win the titles. Pretty Deadly came out of nowhere for a twist but the rest of the show was more than good enough. This is it for NXT UK and now the question is how the wrestlers from the show fit into NXT, which should go well enough.
