Breaking up is hard to do. There are a lot of wrestlers on the AEW roster and it can be difficult to keep track of what they are all doing. Sometimes it is easier to put them together in various groups and that is what a lot of the wrestlers have done over the years. That can make for some interesting moments, but now we had something else take place as one group is no longer a thing.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw the Gunn Club and the Acclaimed defeat Ruffin It and Fuego del Sol in an eight man tag. The match ended when Max Caster hit the Mic Drop on Bear Bronson but Austin Gunn stole the pin. Following the match, the winners brawled, drawing in Billy Gunn to break up the fight. Billy then turned on the Acclaimed and left them laying before walking away with his sons.
Opinion: This is one of those things that needed to happen and it makes sense for the change to take place. At the end of the day, if AEW wants the Acclaimed to be cheered, it didn’t make sense to have them teaming with Billy. This gives them a reason to fight back and the raps from Caster alone should be worth the listen. It was a move that needed to be done and we should be in for some good moments going forward.
What did you think of the change? What is next for both teams? Let us know in the comments below.
