They're In: AEW Stars Set To Appear In Upcoming Cody Rhodes Documentary

Call it a crossover? The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works and that has been a good thing. Several wrestlers are now getting the change to shine in a way they never have been and many have gained a new audience as a result. That has opened up a variety of possibilities and now we are seeing one of the stranger ones take place in a way.

Earlier this week, a new Peacock documentary on Cody Rhodes, entitled “American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes” was announced. The film will look at Rhodes’ departure from WWE until his return in 2022. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, footage from AEW stars the Young Bucks’ “Being The Elite” series will be included in the film, which debuts on July 31.

Cody Rhodes confirmed to me that BTE footage is in his documentary, and that Matt and Nick Jackson allowed it.

Opinion: This is going to make the film that much more interesting, as there is no way to tell Rhodes’ story without everything that happened to him in AEW. Those times are what shaped Rhodes into what he is today and it is fascinating to see the path that he has taken to become one of the top stars in all of WWE. The film sounds rather interesting and it is probably going to exceed the hype.
