From both sides. There are a few major wrestling promotions in he United States and all of them have very talented wrestlers on their roster. Every so often one of their contracts comes up for renewal, which can lead to a question of where they will sign next. Some wrestlers will draw interest from various promotions and that will likely be the case again later this year.

According to Fightful Select, Rey Fenix’s AEW contract is expected to expire at some point near the end of the year. There is no word on how contract negotiations between the two sides have gone. At the same time, it is expected that WWE will be interested in signing Fenix as well. This comes as Fenix’s brother, Penta El Zero Miedo, is expected to become a free agent later this year as well. There is no word on whether the two contracts expire at the same time.

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise whatsoever as Fenix is more than talented enough to warrant some attention from multiple promotions. It very well might lead to nothing, but WWE is likely going to put out some kind of a feeler. If this leads to more money going to Fenix then good for him, as he is more than talented enough to have earned a chance like this from both promotions.
