According to Fightful Select, NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov is not currently scheduled for a main roster call up, but he is expected to come up whenever he loses the title. His trips back to Russia to see his family are not seen as a problem as WWE is willing to work with his schedule. Dragunov is believed to be ready for the promotion and is said to need little direction from coaches, which is uncommon among NXT stars. Dragunov’s mind for wrestling is also praised and he is described as easy to work with.

Dragunov is special. Check out what he can do when he is in the ring:

Opinion: Dragunov coming up to the main roster is hardly a surprise and it really does feel like a matter of time more than anything else. You can see the incredible intensity and talent and those are the kinds of things that you either have or you don’t. Dragunov has more than enough of both of them and the faster he can get to the main roster, the better shape the company is going to be in.
