It’s over. A wrestler holding a title can be a huge event and it is interesting to see what happens during their time as champion. Earlier this week, a report surfaced saying that Rhea Ripley was injured and would possibly be forced to vacate the WWE Women’s World Title this week. Ripley did indeed vacate the title to open this week’s Monday Night Raw, with an attack at the hands of Liv Morgan last week being blamed. It is not clear if Ripley was actually injured during the segment or if it was a way to deal with a previous injury. A new champion will be crowned on the April 22 Monday Night Raw but it is not clear how the title will be awarded. While Ripley’s official time off was not mentioned, it was said she would be out for several months.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you never want to see as Ripley is going to have to be out of action for a long time. What matters is getting her back to full health, but while we’re waiting on that, the question now is what happens to the title. While the logical move would seem to be to put the title on Morgan, but there is no guarantee that WWE will go in that direction.
