Spread theme out? WWE presents a variety of live events every year with some of them being among the biggest events anywhere in wrestling. Wrestlers appearing on one of these shows can be a game changer for their careers as these shows do not often have that many spots available. During an appearance at the UBS Global Media & Communication Conference, TKO CEO Mark Shapiro spoke about the possibility of expanding WWE Premium Live Events to two nights. Shapiro said there were “definitely opportunities” to expand some of the shows, depending on the situation. Shapiro cited the success of WrestleMania expanding to two nights, with Summerslam doing the same next year. There is currently no guarantee that this will happen and it is still only being considered at the moment.
The two night structure has done well for WrestleMania. Check out how it has gone:
Opinion: This is where things seem to go in the future, but at the same time I would hold that it is not going to be the case for every show. While there is something to be said about having something like WrestleMania or the Royal Rumble expanding to two nights, I’m not sure how much need there is for something like Fastlane or Bad Blood to do the same. If WWE is making money with the expanded schedule though, that is what we are going to see and that makes a lot of sense.
