They did something. There have been all kinds of stories taking place in the wrestling world over the last few weeks and some of them have resulted in some interesting situations. One of the biggest stories in WWE has been Cody Rhodes turning down a chance to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, with the Rock seemingly taking Rhodes’ place. This has led to an intense backlash and now we know how WWE is dealing with it.

This week’s Monday Night Raw was the first televised show since Rhodes made his decision. The show opened with Seth Rollins confronting Rhodes in the ring, which saw the crowd chanting “ROCKY SUCKS”. Commentary acknowledged the chants and made jokes about the situation. Discussions about the Rhodes ordeal throughout the night featured commentary talking about how controversial it was, with mentions of pro-Rhodes tweets trending over the weekend.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE had to do at some point. The idea of ignoring everything that was going on was not going to work and WWE seems to understand that they had to do something. I’m curious to see where all of this goes, but it does not seem that the story is going to be over anytime soon. We could be in for a very interesting Road To WrestleMania and that is the best thing possible.
