I don’t think I see this one being accepted. Earlier this week, WWE confirmed that NXT would be moving to Wednesday nights and expanding to two hours. The move, which takes place on September 18, will put NXT in direct competition with AEW’s TNT show, which debuts on October 2. This is seen as counter programming for AEW, but WWE sees things quite differently.

A WWE spokesman recently responded to an article from Deadspin.com, saying that AEW was counter programming against NXT instead of the other way around. The spokesman cited NXT airing on Wednesday night since 2015, suggesting that AEW should be asked about their own counter programming. Deadspin did ask AEW about the accusations and an AEW spokesman declined to comment.

It’s going to be a packed night. Check out Triple H on what the move means and the trailer for AEW on TNT:

Opinion: I’m not sure how well this holds up, as WWE could have almost any night they wanted on the USA network and they picked Wednesday at the same time as AEW. Couple that with the fact that NXT airs on the WWE Network and can be streamed at any time and it is a little hard to accept that AEW getting a television deal is going after NXT. It should be interesting to see how many fans watch each because it could go on for a long time.
