It doesn’t have the sharpest teeth. Over ten years ago, WWE instituted their Wellness Policy to help talent with various issues. The Policy includes a system of strikes that can lead to a talent being let go by the company. These strikes carry punishments of their own, though at the moment, it does not seem like the strikes or the Policy as a whole are going to be all that intimidating.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is not likely to give anyone a third strike in the Wellness Policy and fire them as a result as it could lead to them going to AEW. This is the case with Jeff Hardy, who now has multiple arrests this year and does not seem to be facing any major punishment from WWE. Under the Wellness Policy, wrestlers can lose a single strike if they go to rehab.

This is a pretty serious issue so we’ll go the other way. Check out the on screen version of a WWE strike.

Opinion: You almost had to expect this, even though it doesn’t say much for the whole idea of the Wellness Policy in the first place. It is getting clearer and clearer that Hardy has a problem and if WWE is never going to do anything serious about it, what is the point in having the Policy in the first place? I understand that WWE doesn’t want anyone to go to AEW, but this does not set the best precedent.

Do you expect Hardy to be punished? Will WWE ever release him? Let us know in the comments below.
