That’s why they do it. WWE has long since become the biggest and most profitable wrestling promotion in the world, which has a lot to do with why it was purchased by Endeavor. At the same time, cities around the world bid to have WWE come to their areas and a new report explains exactly why getting a major WWE event is such an aggressive competition.

Back in September, WWE presented Clash At The Castle in Cardiff, Wales. According to the BBC, the event brought in over $27 million to the local economy. A reported 75% of the audience (62,296 reported fans in attendance) traveled to Wales for the show and 57% of 3,000 fans surveyed said the show made them want to explore Wales. WWE is returning to the UK for Money In The Bank this June.

Opinion: This is the reason why these shows take place around the world and across the United States with cities regularly bidding on the shows. That is not something you see happen very often and while it might be a headache to have so many people and fans coming into the area, it can make that much of a difference. WWE going back to the UK later this year isn’t a surprise and I can imagine them going back again rather soon.
