They might want to work on that. AEW has not been around all that long but they have managed to become one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world. This includes having a variety of wrestlers working for them, some of whom are featured more than others. One name has recently announced her departure, and now there are some more less than positive details about the situation.

Earlier this month, Leva Bates announced that her AEW contract had expired and she was leaving the company. According to Fightful Select, sources close to Bates say she was surprised by the move, which she only learned about when friends checked on her. Bates’ departure was announced via an email throughout the company. While she has only wrestled once for AEW this year, Bates has worked backstage for the company, including for its Heels program.

Opinion: This is another instance of AEW not having the best communication with someone who is leaving the promotion. Bates should have been told in advance that she was not going to be kept, if nothing else for the sake of letting her figure out her future plans. Either way, this seems to be something that AEW needs to work on, as it is far from the first time this has been reported as an issue.
