She did it. Title changes can be rather important moments in wrestlers’ careers as they can take wrestlers into different directions. Most of the time for someone to win a title, another wrestler has to lose it, but this time around we have something a little bit different. In this case, someone lost a title and there was a gap to be filled. That gap has since been filled by a new champion.

Last week on Monday Night Raw, Rhea Ripley announced that she was forced to vacate the WWE Women’s World Title due to a shoulder injury. As a result, a battle royal was held this week to crown a new champion. Becky Lynch would go on to win the battle royal, last eliminating Liv Morgan, making her the new champion. Lynch was defeated by Ripley on Night One of WrestleMania 40.

Opinion: Lynch is about as safe of a pick as there could have been as she is someone who can be put into that spot without much trouble. She might not be the big long term answer to the problem, but she is someone who can put someone else over in an important moment. There is even a chance that Lynch will hold the title until Ripley gets back for another showdown, but for now we should be in for a nice run from one of the best ever.
